Teaching Support Assistant – Specialising in Speech and Language

The role will include delivering speech and language interventions in a small class setting alongside a specialist teacher.

Successful candidates will be strong team members, committed to making a real difference to children’s lives. You will be able to demonstrate high expectations and will be skilled in delivering a wide range of teaching styles and strategies which engage learners to be successful and achieve.  Qualified to a minimum of GCSE level  in Maths and English, you will have good ICT skills, a successful track record of working with SEND children and have a speech and language qualification, such as Elklan training.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are central  to this role and any knowledge of non-verbal language such as Makaton or PECS will be extremely advantageous.  Lastly a proven ability of delivering positive behaviour management skills is particularly desirable. If you are an aspiring Speech and Language therapist with a relevant degree, this could be the ideal role to gain some fantastic experience to support you in your studies.
