Proud to be a part of
Children First Academy Trust

We thrive and achieve together.

Safeguarding

Fleecefield Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, more details of which can be found in our safeguarding policy here.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Online Safety at Fleecefield

Computing, including the use of the internet and digital communication, has become an essential resource to support and broaden the learning experiences of young people within schools.

Therefore, it is critical that Fleecefield, and all schools, examine the risks along with the benefits, and take appropriate steps to ensure that children are safe.

Visitors to Fleecefield

To ensure that visitors are well-informed and aware of their responsibilities in regard to safeguarding, the school provides a leaflet that outlines safety protocols and guidelines.

Please see below for Safeguarding Information for Visitors.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass is a project that runs jointly between schools and the Metropolitan Police Service.

Operation Encompass is the notification to schools that a child (under 18) has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident. This will ordinarily be done by the start of the next school day.

Operation Encompass will ensure that a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), is informed. The DSL can then use the information that has been shared, in confidence, to ensure the wellbeing of the child.

We may then be able to make provisions or adjustments to assist the child and their family.

We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our pupils and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
